Quartet Bios

Ian Crane, Tenor

Ian Crane, Tenor

Ian Crane, tenor, teaches music at Benedictine High School in Cleveland. He’s involved in area music ensembles including Quire Cleveland and Apollo Singers (of Apollo’s Fire), singing bass. Ian is working on his master’s degree in choral conducting at Kent State and looks forward to the day when he is home more than two nights a week. Ian is married to his beautiful and very patient wife, Tricia, and is the proud father of the first addition to the family, Phoebe.

Mike Wentzel, Lead

Mike Wentzel, Lead

Mike Wentzel, lead, is just a guy who likes to sing. He’s also the newest member of What’s Next, and has the best voice. Naturally, Tyler had to move to baritone (sorry Tyler).

Tyler Skidmore, Baritone

Tyler Skidmore, Baritone

Tyler Skidmore, the baritone of What’s Next, has enjoyed singing in barbershop quartets and choruses since high school, first as a tenor, then a lead, and now a baritone (how did that happen?). He is a member of the Men of Independence Chorus and has enjoyed participating in various ‘classical’ choirs around the Cleveland area. During the day, Tyler teaches choir at Medina High School, and during the evening, he is either taking graduate music classes at Kent State or in a rehearsal of some kind. On the weekends, he is active as a musician and board member at the Wadsworth Church of the Nazarene.

Steve Sprunger, Bass

Steve Sprunger, Bass

Steve Sprunger, bass, is a teacher in North Royalton, Steve still hasn’t decided what he wants to be when he grows up. He does have an angel for a wife who mothered 4 children, may God help her. Steve is very active with Cubscouts and his children’s sport teams. He also has many part-time jobs such as Petitti Garden Center, and Weymouth C.C. in Medina.
